An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sous Chef position at our client?s fresh food pub within the affluent and picturesque village of Slyne in Lancaster. This is very much a fresh quality food venue with a good local reputation for its food which they want to further improve on.
The Keys is situated in the heart of village life and has a destination nature which they are looking to exploit by pushing the menu quality forward. They have recently brought in a well regarded and stable management couple and Head Chef to drive this business forward.
They are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Sous Chef to team up with their Head chef to produce quality fresh food and who is also able to work under their own initiative and bring new ideas to the table.
The successful candidate will be responsible for running the kitchen operation in the Head Chef?s absence, maintaining high levels of hygiene control, health and safety throughout the department, staff development and the highest food quality standards. Whilst taking an active part in developing the business as one of the sites management team.
The right person could be either a sous chef looking for a new challenge, a junior sous or chef de partie looking to push themselves forward.
Must be used to working with locally sourced seasonal ingredients.
Capable of using own initiative and ability to be creative and forward thinking.
Knowledge of good stock taking and menu costing a real advantage.
Due to location must have own transportation or live locally.
A working trial will be required in order to establish fit for both parties.
The Keys is a part of the wider Chameleon Bar & Dining group.
Salary: Dependant on Experience - up to £23,000.
