The Company and the Role:
The Company is a multi-award winning, family run gastro pub chain operating 8 sites in the South East, currently seeking a permanent Sous Chef for their public house located near Epsom Surrey.
They are looking for a committed Sous Chef with a passion for good food that is ready to continue developing their career in an award-winning venue.
Established in 2003 the Company has grown to 8 fantastic Gastro Pubs offering seasonal British cuisine. This pub prides its self on sourcing ingredients from artisan suppliers and is freshly cooked by their creative chefs

Key Features of the Role:
A Fantastic opportunity as a Sous Chef working under a very experienced, talented and dedicated Head Chef that is willing to teach, develop and progress the brigade.
Most importantly you must be a Sous Chef with lots of energy, passion and have an enthusiastic, switched-on nature.
As a Sous Chef you will be required to work across all areas of the kitchen and have the ability to confidently manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
All food is prepared in house using fresh ingredients and local suppliers wherever possible as well creating and developing and setting the highest standards of food quality and consistency

Knowledge and Skills Required:
To be successful in the role you will need to be an accomplished Sous Chef.
Experience in a high-quality and volume fresh and seasonal food preparation.
Proven ability to motivate and train junior members of the team.
Trusted to support the Head Chef and look after the kitchen properly in their absence.
Able to communicate daily to the relevant departments.
Able to adhere to company standards and procedures and can hit financial and management targets.
Have a good working knowledge of HACCP and COSHH.
Attention to detail around food specification and cooking methods.
Gets excited about using fresh, seasonal and local produce.
Have a passion and flair for cooking and can contribute to menu ideas.
Understands the importance of food margin control and has the skills to achieve it.

What’s on Offer?
Basic salary will be in the region of £24,000 - £28,000 per annum depending experience and skill.
Tips which can be worth around £80 per week.
Benefits include pension scheme, staff loyalty scheme after 3 months and childcare vouchers, uniform / Chefs Whites provided.
Standard working week is 45 hours working 5 shifts a week which will include split shifts and weekends.
Discretionary Bonus.
