The Company and the Role:
This Business is a privately-owned Gastro Pub situated just South of Basingstoke, a truly beautiful pub that serves a mixture of British and French cuisine cooked from fresh ingredients and locally sourced. They have a large garden split into three with a restaurant which can also cater for up to 100 guest for buffets and a bar area with a good selection of ales, larger and wines
They are now seeking a great Sous Chef. This position is permanent and full time.

Key Features of the Role:
You will be working with an ever changing fresh and vibrant menu, sometimes on your own and sometimes with the help of the team.
As Sous Chef you will need to have management skills to run the kitchen in the Head Chef absence on short term and long term periods.
You will need to be a special Sous Chef, somebody with a sleeves roll-up attitude and a desire to succeed as an important member of the team.
Full driving licence and own reliable transport is required due to the location.

Knowledge and Skills:
Be an existing Sous Chef but the Head Chef may consider a Junior Sous Chef looking to make the next step in their career.
Have worked within the pub / gastro pub sector within your career.
Experience of high quality food prep and service, exceptional personal standards and a grasp of kitchen culture.
Familiar with all current legislation’s regarding food hygiene, safety, risk assessments etc.
A great passion for creating and perfecting dishes.
Used to working with fresh, seasonal ingredients ideally obsessed with British pub cuisine.
Have a ‘can do’ attitude and ambition to progress your career.
Have good stock take knowledge and competent when placing orders.
Possess excellent communication and team skills
Be able to manage the kitchens structure set by the Head Chef on their days off.

What’s on Offer?
A basic salary of £23,500 per annum
