The Company and the Role:
The Company is an award-winning gastro pub chain operating 8 sites in the South East. They are currently seeking a Roving Sous Chef. The position is permanent.
This is a great opportunity for a committed Sous Chef with a passion for travel, training and good food, someone who is ready to continue developing their career in an award-winning gastro pub venue.
You can work as cover for any Head Chef or Sous Chef within the 8 gastro pubs. Assisting and deputizing for the Group where there is a need or requirement.
Established in 2003 the Company is offering a basic salary up to £24k plus tips (Tronc) from each venue you work at), bonus and benefits including a pension scheme, staff loyalty scheme after 3 months, Uniform / Chefs Whites and Childcare Vouchers, mileage and expenses and accommodation.
Generally, you will spend 2 weeks at each venue covering holidays and seasonal peak or brigade shortages, but your home base will be the venue closest to your home.

Key Features of the Role:
All food is prepared in house using fresh ingredients and local suppliers wherever possible.
As a Roving Sous Chef, you will be expected to create and develop and set the highest standards of food quality and consistency.
The Roving Sous Chef will be a great team player with good organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a very busy environment in an award-winning gastro pub standard.
Enhancing the company’s reputation for consistently preparing cooking and presenting dishes to the right quality and second to none.
Travelling to any of the venues as and when required on a rota based system.

Knowledge and Skills:
You should be an accomplished Sous Chef, ideally with experience of working in a fresh food kitchen at a similar level, or a Junior Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie looking to move up to the next level.
Your practical experience should ideally be supported by some form of catering qualification.
Alternatively, the Company is supportive to the ex-military community, they welcome applications from Chefs at all levels who are either about to leave the Armed Forces or who have trained and served as a Chef in the Armed Forces.
Previous experience in a similar role requiring a broad food knowledge and precise attention to detail is essential, and you must have your own transport.
You must have experience and a desire to work with fresh, quality produce and should possess ambition to continually improve and uphold the business standards.
As a Roving Sous Chef, you must have a driving licence and your own vehicle.

What’s on Offer:
The Roving Sous Chef will have a basic salary in the region of £19-24k per annum plus tips which will be worth around £80 per week.
Staff accommodation on-site if available or close to the venue.
In addition, there is a monthly bonus scheme.
Other benefits include a pension scheme, staff loyalty Scheme after 3 months, Uniform / Chefs Whites and Childcare Vouchers, mileage and expenses are also included.
Standard working week is 45 hours working 5 shifts a week.
