The Company and the Role:
An exclusive award-winning luxury 4 Star Hotel that is nestled in acres of beautifully manicured land deep in the Cheshire countryside. Once a stunning and well-known Manor House which over the years has been transformed into a crème de la crème hotel. They are now seeking a passionate full-time permanent Junior Sous Chef to bolster their kitchen brigade.
The Hotel is part of a small and successful chain of well-known and established destination resorts located across the English Counties, in areas known for their natural beauty, relaxing and calming environments.
This role would be ideal for an existing Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie that would like the experience to work in a vibrant, successful and busy kitchen, you would be part of a superb team that will go on the become proven and passionate award winners.
You could be part of a holistic health and wellbeing kitchen team, were your fresh food dishes are helping others to relax or eat healthy, nutritious meals, which compliments their hotel spa, treatments and general soaking in of the natural beauty and ambience.

Key Features of the Role:
As Junior Sous Chef you are part of the trusted kitchen hierarchy, focusing on the food aspect of the kitchen supporting the Senior Sous and Head Chef, which means this position has some control over certain kitchen and team aspects, with responsibility for the food quality produced, under the supervision of the Head Chef.
You will be expected and trusted to make sure the brigade is producing top-quality cuisine, and that Chefs with talent are trained and developed. In addition, you may have to take charge of the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, in partnership with the Senior Sous.
You will have tasks and responsibilities which are diverse and vary from cooking or plating certain dishes, to establishing the menu and dealing with the ingredient providers. Therefore, the position requires both culinary and managerial skills.
Full driving licence and own reliable transport is required due to the location.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
To be successful in this role you will be an accomplished and existing Sous Chef, however Head Chef’s that want to take a step back will be considered, as well as existing Junior Sous Chef, or Senior Chef de Partie looking to make the next step up in their career.
Experience of high-quality food prep and service, exceptional personal standards and a grasp of kitchen culture.
Worked within the hotel industry preferable within 3 / 4-star establishments.
Familiar with all current legislation’s regarding food hygiene, safety, risk assessments etc.
A great passion for creating and perfecting dishes and used to working with fresh, seasonal ingredients, and ideally interested in nutritional and healthy menu items.
Have a ‘can do’ attitude, aptitude and ability to progress your career.
Have good stock take knowledge and competent when placing orders.
Possess excellent communication and team skills.
Be able to manage the kitchens structure set by the Head Chef on their days off.
