The Head Chef (Pastry) will play a hands-on role producing bakery items for the National Theatre’s catering outlets but also have an active involvement in the development of event & restaurant menus in conjunction with the Head Chef in those areas. The Head Chef is part of the kitchen management team and will lead in the development of the chef team and the development of the food offer, with a specific focus to delivering show stopping, creative and market leading bakery goods. Although this position will be based primarily in the Bakery, the post holder will have the opportunity to play an active role in supporting and generating ideas for the entire food offer within the NT. You might be required to manage other kitchens and brigades, driving consistency through leading by example and pushing qualitative standards and expectations.
Candidates should ideally have experience in a high quality establishment within the industry and experience managing a fast paced kitchen environment. Experience working in a bakery is desirable. A relevant chef qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2) is also desirable.
