One of the most modern and trendy catering companies are now looking for a highly talented Sous Chef! Located in the heart of Central, this luxury boutique catering venue has built their philosophy around sensational food, creating catering and elegant service. They pride themselves in the sophistication, innovation and passion they put in each dish and event to make them absolutely unique. Catering involves corporate, charity and private events, as well as festivals, weddings and children parties.

The role involves:

  • Assisting the Head Chef with menu development and preparation for various events
  • Ensuring freshness of mise en place is consistent at all times
  • Assist in preparing various dishes, some of which include canapes, bowl food, buffets and afternoon tea to the highest standard possible
  • Manage our food quality standards by consistently monitoring the temperature of hot food as well as insuring that our cold food is stored according to standards
  • Ensure consistent and accurate records are kept for temperature logs
  • Monitoring orders, deliveries and stocking system
  • Manage stock rotation and product storage/labelling standards
  • Keep an up-to-date record of menu costs as well as any other event related costs including chef preparation time

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess previous experience working in professional kitchens, with an understanding of kitchen operations
  • Be proactive, able to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Be motivated and passionate about food
  • Demonstrate creativity, innovation and flair in the kitchen
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team whilst undertaking a leadership role
  • Build effective and constructive relationships within the company and also face to face to clients
  • Require health and safety or food hygiene qualifications (obligatory)
  • Require a clean licence with at least 8 years of driving experience
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of MS Office
