Purpose of Job
To contribute to the Turnover and Profitability of the pub, by the preparation and service of food to a good standard set by management and to the satisfaction of customers and to maintain a cordial and courteous relationship at all times with both customers and management.
Duties and responsibilities
To plan, prepare, cook, present and serve food for customers to its best advantage, with the object of promoting sales of the pubs products.
To prepare the kitchen, where food is to be prepared and served, and at all times maintain the standards of Health and Hygiene, service and cleanliness set by the management.
To ensure all food is stored and served at the correct temperatures and keep good records of temperature probe testing.
To plan and discuss menus, costings, ordering and receipt of goods and supplies.
To submit, to management, full allergen information for all menu items
To use business appointed suppliers when ordering food products and dry goods
To maintain stock levels at a suitable level with the object of increasing and promoting the pubs products and to assist in achieving Gross profit margins as detailed by management and avoiding excess wastage.
To be responsible for all food tickets handled in the course of each days duty
To maintain the cleanliness and care of the equipment and working areas used in accordance with the standards required by laws and the procedures laid down by management, following daily, weekly and ad hoc cleaning schedules
To observe all Statutory requirements for Health and safety, hygiene, fire and security.
The Ideal candidate
We are looking for a Cook or Chef who is wants to be involved in a long term project, working in a pub that is under fresh new management, who want to build the business.
This is a small village pub with a good local following and we want to start a good relationship with our new cook/chef to encourage more visits to the pub.
Fluent english and an impeccable standard of personal hygiene is imperative.
As is a full driving licence and access to a car as there is no public transport nearby.
The ideal candidate would also have up to date Hygiene certificates and experience in a catering kitchen.
We are looking for someone who is able to work alone, use their own initiative but still keep good lines of communication open with other members of staff and management.
They need to have a flexible approach and keep calm under pressure.
The Pub is open for food - Lunch (12-2) Tuesday through to Sunday
and Evenings (6-9) Tuesday through to Saturday.
