The Company and the Role:
An award winning 4 Star Hotel is seeking a full-time permanent Commis Chef, in the beautiful surrounding countryside of an established and well-known Manor House Hotel located in Cheshire, working 45 hours per week.
The Hotel restaurant offers an organised brigade structure, allowing talented and motivated individuals to progress up the career ladder, learning and developing their skills and knowledge during their career tenure, offering long term employment stability and security.
The Hotel is part of a small chain of well-known and established destination resorts located across the English Counties, in areas known for their natural beauty, relaxing and calming environments.
You could be part of a holistic health and wellbeing kitchen team, were your fresh food dishes are helping others to relax or eat healthy, nutritious meals, which compliments their hotel spa, treatments and general soaking in the natural beauty and ambience.
Key Features of the Role:
You will assist and learn from the Senior Chefs in the running on the kitchen. From receiving and storing goods, preparing, cooking and serving dishes to the front of house for delivery to the guests.
You will be expected to follow company standards, food standards and being fully compliant with our Food Safety Policy. After a reasonable period of training you must be able to cover the running of a section in the absence of a Chef de Partie.
Be aware of and strictly adhere to hygiene and food safety standards as laid down by the company and legal requirements
Work with a high level of attention to detail
Ensure stock is controlled and rotated. Accept and store deliveries
Ensure that mis en place is completed in your section
Ensure that food is served to guests on time
Assist the Senior Chefs in creating and maintaining high quality food standards

Knowledge and Skills Required:
You will ideally have some experience as a Commis Chef working in a busy kitchen
Own transport is essential due to rural location and long hours, unless you intend to live in
You should possess ambition to continually push yourself to move up to the next career level
Knowledgeable of all chemicals, cleaning products and hazards as you will be using these on a daily basis
Able to follow instructions and cleaning schedules so good communicational skills is required
Have good knowledge of storage and stock rotation as you may be required to check and store deliveries
Must be a trustworthy person as the Commis Chef is normally the last to be left in the kitchen and trusted to leave the kitchen in a good state ready for the next day
What’s on Offer?
Commis Chef are paid National Minimum Wage rate of £7.83 per hour. If you are under 25 years of age, then the hourly rate of pay will be as per the NMW pay scale.
