Description

We are a small but thriving village pub trying to offer excellent food. The Plough Inn is a unique pub where locals mix, drink, talk and eat. We can seat around 40 in our restaurant and a busy night would see around 50 covers.

Food is currently served 7 days a week with a second chef covering Monday evenings. The head chef is responsible for the menu and we would expect good, fresh pub grub with their own twist and specials that keep diners interested.

We are not a 'drizzled' and 'resting on' sort of establishment or fine dining. We cater for big appetites and customers that know good food. A typical menu would contain steaks, gammon freshly prepared pies, curries, lasagne, hunters chicken, fish dishes including scallops and whitebait and original fish and chips.

All meats are delivered by our local butcher who actually eats here as well and we hold up to 5 types of steak which are very popular and have to be cooked to perfection to please the local farmers.

5 or 6 specials revolve weekly and again, are totally under the control of the chef.

Other duties include the normal compliance paperwork, allergy sheets, ingredients lists etc that goes with running a kitchen.

Live in is available in an en-suite attic room if required. If you feel this is a role you feel suited to then please get in touch via the email address or directly by phone to Mike at 07989 975444.

Rate of pay will depend on experience and if the position is live in but will be in line with this type of position. At the beginning there will be a month trial before contracts are signed but reliability and a passion to achieve will be rewarded as we build the business and move forward.

Come prepared to cook and show your wares to a demanding but friendly customer base. As employers we only wish for a professional attitude, good working skills, great food and a professional approach. We will support you where we can with equipment and staff but it will be up to you to deliver the goods.
