The Company and the Role:
The Company is a multi-award winning, family run gastro pub chain operating 8 sites in the South East, currently seeking a permanent Chef de Partie for their public house located near Tonbridge, Kent.
They are looking for a committed Chef de Partie with a passion for good food that is ready to continue developing their career in an award-winning venue.
This establishment is everything that the Great British Pub should be from the warm welcome and relaxed atmosphere to great seasonal home cooked food served all day.
Key Features of the Role:
As a Chef de Partie you get to oversee a section of the kitchen, be it pastry, butchery, fish, sauces, vegetables and so on. Chances are that you'll be cooking great English pub cuisine with a little French twist.
All food is prepared in house using fresh ingredients and local suppliers wherever possible.
Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
You will be expected to create and develop and set the highest standards of food quality and consistency.
Helping the Sous Chef and Head Chef to develop new dishes and menus.
Ensuring you and your team have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety.
Must have a reliable car and driving license due to the location of the establishment.
You will be a great team player with good organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a very busy environment, to an award-winning pub standard, enhancing the company’s reputation for consistently preparing cooking and presenting dishes to the right quality that is second to none.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ideally with experience of working in a fresh food kitchen at a similar level, or a Commis Chef looking to move up to the next level.
Experience working with fresh and seasonal ingredients and possess ambition to continually improve yourself the business.
Your practical Chef de Partie experience should ideally be supported by some form of catering qualification.
Previous experience in a similar role requiring a broad food knowledge and precise attention to detail is essential.
Experience in managing and training any Demi-Chef de Parties or Commis Chefs working with you.
What’s on Offer?
Basic salary will be in the region of £19,000 - £21,000 per annum depending experience and skill set.
Tips which can be worth around £80 per week.
Benefits include pension scheme, staff loyalty scheme after 3 months and childcare vouchers, uniform / Chefs Whites provided.
Standard working week is 45 hours working 5 shifts a week which will include split shifts, weekends and breakfast shifts.
