Hospitality bosses in Jersey say they are seeing an increase in abuse on staff.
At a meeting yesterday, some of the top restaurateurs in the island said some staff have even resigned because of it.
They say it's partly due to people over-indulging when it comes to alcohol, particularly during the Christmas season.
Customers have come in perhaps already inebriated and have behaved inappropriately and have made rude and unpleasant remarks, both to other customers and to our staff. And we've had to deal with that accordingly. It has been very uncomfortable.
